IT IS RELATIVELY easy to purchase and raise the beneficial insects you want in your garden. There are three main reasons to raise beneficial insects.  As mentioned on the Beneficial Insect Management, you can raise beneficial insects to protect your organic garden from pests.

INSECTS CAN also be raised as a food crop.  Not a human food crop (unless you're iSoldier Fly Compost Binnto that sort of thing) but for...

animal food.  Specifically in Aquaponics systems that use carnivorous fish species (crappie, trout, catfish, etc) , you may choose to feed your fish organic homegrown food rather than buying fish food from a food store, especially if you are planning to harvest your fish for eating.  The types of insects you would grow for your fish and poultry are mealworms, soldier fly larvae, and earthworms.  These insects are very high in protein and are easily raised. Click the image link above for a video on building a Soldier Fly Larvae Compost Bin.

THIRDLY:  for decomposition and to help your compost piles convert to fertilizer quicker.

BELOW ARE links for insects/eggs/larvae and some other products you may want for your insect raising venture.
